The world consumes so much media nowadays. As we continue to rely on technology and the web, the more content is needed, which means creators will always be in demand. Whether that comes in the form of writing, blogging, filming, or podcasting, there’s room for new creators all over the web. If you’re an aspiring content creator but struggling with putting yourself out there, this blog post is for you. You may be experiencing a bit of imposter syndrome or wondering how to stand out. If this is the case, here are five tips to help you put yourself out there more as a content creator.

Create multiple social accounts

How can you grow a following if no one can find you? You want to be sure to create different social media accounts to ensure you can be found. Create a Twitter account, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and even Youtube Channel if you’re going to be recording any type of content. Once you’ve got your social media accounts, you can begin posting. Don’t worry; you only need to create one piece of content and share it to each platform. There’s even software that can do this for you. Once you begin posting on each and every platform, you’ll begin to find your tribe, and then you can decide which platforms you want to stick with and which ones you want to ditch.

Own your uniqueness

These days, everyone wants to become a content creator, and while there’s room for everyone, you need to stand out. What is it about you that makes you unique? Be yourself, find your own voice, and use it. Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing. Users are going to click on your content to be informed or entertained, but they’re going to return and become a follower for your personality. So, give it to them!

Know your audience

There’s nothing worse than creators gaining a following for one thing and then switching gears and giving their followers another. While you never want to put yourself in a box and stay open to trying out new things, your followers more than likely followed you for one specific reason. Don’t start out posting make-up tutorials and then six months down the line decide to start recording muk-bangs. Nine times out of ten, your original followers don’t want to see that. It’s important for you to know your audience. Ask them what they want to see from you and give them what they want.

Network

Being a content creator can get pretty lonely off the web, so it’s important to utilize your connections online. Network with other content creators and follow creators you admire and who might be in the same space as you. Get to know your audience by polling them and actually responding to their messages and comments. Networking and connecting with others leads to not only more followers, but more opportunities for you as a creator.

Create consistently

It’s so important to be consistent when it comes to creating content. The only way to continuously grow is to put out more content. This isn’t to say that you won’t have days where you won’t feel like creating. Those days will come, and when they do, take a break. Do what’s best for you because creating when you don’t feel like it can lead to serious burn out. However, it’s important to create a content schedule and stick to it as best you can. Success comes from consistency, and as a creator, you’ve got to show up for yourself daily.
