Many times creators feel like their content isn’t being seen because no one is engaging, but more often than not, it’s being seen. Creators just need to do a better job of connecting with their audience. When you connect with your audience, you build trust, increase engagement, and grow more. Keep reading if you’re wondering how to connect with your audience more.
One of the easiest ways to connect with your audience is by re-introducing yourself often, especially after gaining new followers. Share a photo of yourself, tell who you are and what you do, and share some relatable facts. Audiences love to connect with creators they can relate to. When they feel that you all are alike in some way, it builds trust.
Share your journey
Share your journey with your audience. Audiences love authenticity and can relate to unpolished content. When you share behind-the-scenes of your work or something you’re going through, they feel connected. People love to feel like they’re a part of something bigger than themselves. Your audience will appreciate you allowing them to see a glimpse into your life.
Another great way to connect with your audience is by sharing your accomplishments, whether it’s huge goals you’ve reached or small, everyday tasks you’ve checked off your list. Sharing your achievements with your audience inspires them. They will begin to look up to you, look to you for advice, and think of you as a leader in your space.
Include call-to-actions in posts
This seems like a no-brainer, but many creators fail to include call-to-actions (CTAs) in their content. Always try to get your audience to do something. Some examples of call-to-actions:
- Leave a comment below
- Tag a friend
- Click the link in my bio
- Send me a DM
- Share this post to your story
- Send this to someone who needs it
You can have your audience do numerous things, but you have to voice it! Sharing call-to-actions like this can create more post visibility and increase your engagement.
When you provide value to your audience, they will love you forever. What do you know how to do that your audience is struggling with? Provide how-to guides for your audience. Whether you want to create a carousel post on Instagram, a long-form post on Facebook, a thread on Twitter, or a detailed e-mail — your audience will thank you for the information by becoming loyal. When you provide value, your audience will come back for more.
When you overdeliver to your audience, you will win no matter what. How do you do this? For example, if you provide your audience with a how-to guide, include a link to a valuable download inside the guide. If you promise to go live, at the end of the live, do a Q&A so that your audience can get their questions answered. If you tell your subscribers that they’ll receive an e-mail once per week, opt to send them two. Those who overdeliver will always succeed and grow loyal audiences.
