Eighteen-year-old Charli D’Amelio started out as a TikTok creator and has risen to fame as a social media personality, influencer, and now TV star.

Charli is the second most-followed person on TikTok, with over 146 million followers at the time of writing this. Reportedly, Charli makes at least $100,000 per sponsored TikTok post. She gained her TikTok following through her choreography and recording viral dance moves.

Since becoming one of the internet’s most famous teens, she and her sister collaborated with Hollister to create a clothing brand called Social Tourist.

In 2021, Charli and her family signed a deal with Hulu to star in a new Hulu Original series, The D’Amelio Show, that highlights their home life.

Charli was recently cast on Dancing With the Stars. As a creator who built a following off of performing dance moves, this is right up the TikTok Queen’s alley.

The dancer recently spoke with People Magazine about how being a part of DWTS is “a full circle moment” for her.

Charli says DWTS is reconnecting her to a part of herself that she feels she lost due to the pressures of social media stardom.

She recently spoke on the People Everyday Podcast and said,

“You know, dance wasn’t something that I found fun anymore. It was something that was more just, I did to do it and, you know, it was over when it was over and I didn’t look forward to it anymore. And I think with Dancing With the Stars every week, it’s like, you know, I’m hearing from other people that I finally look like I’m having fun.”

The star also explains in the podcast that her DWTS performances have helped her find the enthusiasm for dance that she feels she lost.

You can watch Charli on Season 2 of The D’Amelio Show, which premiered on Hulu last month, and on Dancing with the Stars, which airs Mondays on Disney+ at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
