Jackie Aina is a 35-year-old Nigerian-American beauty YouTuber with over 3.5 million subscribers. After several makeup collaborations with prominent brands, such as E.L.F, Too Faced, and Anastasia Beverly Hills, she launched her own lifestyle brand, FORVR Mood in 2020. Aina describes FORVR Mood as an affordable luxury lifestyle brand focusing on candles, headbands, and silk pillowcases.

Her YouTube success

Aina first started her beauty YouTube channel in 2006 but started consistently posting videos in 2009. Her YouTube videos were a way of expressing herself and coping with life issues that she was going through at the time. Her YouTube channel has gained over 3.5 million followers in the last 16 years.

On Aina’s channel, she shares recommendations and her opinon on the beauty community, makeup, and skincare products, while using her personality and life experiences to relate to her audience.

Aina advocates for people of color, arguing that makeup brands are not inclusive when it comes to their shades. In her YouTube channel bio, she states that she’s changing the standard of beauty, one video at a time.

As the success of the beauty influencer’s YouTube channel grew, so did her popularity with well-known brands. Over the years, Aina has partnered with many international beauty brands to launch her own eye-shadow palette, foundation, and more.

The launch of FORVR Mood

When Aina first launched her brand in July 2020, she got over 45,000 pre-order sign ups for candles in one day, completely sold out, and couldn’t keep up with the demand.

The successful launch day was just proof to Aina that all the hard work she had done on the brand was worth it. She told Business Insider that she worked on the brand for two whole years before launching it because she wanted it to be perfect.

She says she created FORVR Mood for those who love what she does and wants to try the things that she recommends on a daily basis that aren’t necessarily makeup related.

Each candle collection is a different “mood” and each candle within them has a name tied to the experience you can expect to get when lighting it. The candles change as the seasons change, so you can find a different collection for winter, spring, summer, and fall. Aina even launched a Valentine’s Day collection last year.

Besides the $35 candles, Aina also sells silk pillowcases for $49 and matching headbands for $28.

Aina runs the luxury brand with her fiance and productivity coach, Denis Asamoah. Aina focuses on the creative side of the business and Asamoah leads operations and business development.

While the main focus of the brand is candles, headbands, and silk pillowcases, Aina told Business Insider that she has plans to expand into fragrance and skincare products.

Aina is embracing being a young, successful Black woman and is using her influence to to be a a role model for other black women to follow along in her footsteps. The goal, she told PopSugar, is to inspire others to slow down, take time for themselves, and enjoy their success — whatever that might look like.
